As a store manager, I am responsible for overall store performance.Responsibilities include: Driving Sales; Customer Service; Financial responsibility through P&L; Recruiting; Staff Development; Scheduling; Inventory control; Corporate compliance; Merchandising; Planograms; Loss prevention and Vendor relations.

In this position, I created a service department, which was non-existent. A revenue producing program which would create a full circle business opportunity. Allowing the sales staff to more confidently sell product as well as offer complete after sale support. As a fully functional department, I incorporated my experience to help City Quilter deliver excellent product sales and service in addition to consulting with then on a regular basis regarding product knowledge. Acting as a third party, I was also very effective in directly resolving consumer relations and issues with supplier logistics.

As chief operations officer , I was the driving force of this organization. Ultimately responsible for all aspects of this business. Those actions resulted in double digit sales growth. Areas of oversight included; sales; building strong customer relations; managing; training / motivating staff; streamlining the operation to maximize efficiency and effectiveness; reducing costs and maximizing profitability. I managed all areas of this retail operation including; financial; accounts management, payables, receivables, payroll and state and federal reporting requirements. Other responsibilities:* Marketing, creative advertising solutions, web site development and traffic building efforts.* Making all human resources decisions including hiring, termination, training, conflict resolution and determining benefits for a staff of 25 workers. * Identifying areas for improvement, analyzing issues, implementing sustainable solutions and monitoring success.* Developing class schedule offering more than 120 classes annually. * Coordinating efforts between independent contractors, teachers and facilities to deliver the best product possible while promoting sales.* Maintaining account relations with over 100 vendors.A strong commitment to work with the utmost integrity.

In this position, I was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business managing the employees while maximizing sales, minimizing costs and building strong consumer relations. I made all purchasing decisions for all goods to be sold and implemented competitive costing to maximize profitability. As a technician, I serviced/repaired hundreds of sewing machines, sergers and embroidery systems. I also taught classes. Other responsibilities:*Training of staff in retail sales, customer service, customer retention and technical training.*Purchasing of fabrics, notions, trims, books and machines through direct sales and trade shows.* All book keeping requirements including: posting, payments, account reconciliation and audit. *Implementing and maintaining all technology including both hardware and software.*I was the in-house IT person managing networks and resolving communication errors.*Coordinating independent contractors, instructors and workrooms.*Negotiating web site deployment; designing, developing and maintaining a web site with shopping cart capabilities. *As a highly trained sewing machine technician, I repaired 30 plus sewing machines and embroidery systems weekly. I possess a high degree a mechanical, electrical and electronic knowledge and I am able to identify any issue, service the product, make any and all mechanical adjustments, replace circuit boards and correct most any electrical issue.The best way to deliver a quality product is to develop a warm and friendly work environment that emphasizes and rewards employees for maintaining an environment focused on customer satisfaction.

I began my career here, entering the hotel management training program. Beginning in housekeeping as a supervisor, I was moved around to several rooms division departments. Advancing to Assistant Executive Housekeeper, Communications/PBX Manager, Laundry/Valet Manger and Hotel Assistant Manager.The Grand Hyatt is a union property with very strong union ties. Coordinating the efforts of hundreds of staff while maintaining good union relations was challenging and yet very rewarding.
