CurrentWith a background as a professional dancer and a Masters Degree in Modern Dance from the University of Utah, I bring a deep understanding of the fundamentals of movement to Asheville Therapeutic Massage. My insights into body mechanics informs the use of massage techniques designed to prevent injury, enhance athletic performance, speed recovery from injury, and overcome chronic pain.I am a nationally certified massage therapist. More than two decades experience, backed by 930 hours of training in massage techniques, kinesiology, and Laban Movement Analysis means massage therapy at Asheville Therapeutic Massage is supported by a greater depth of knowledge about massage, a broad range of therapeutic techniques including cranial sacral therapy, lymphatic draining, direct manipulation, and an understating of the body as a complex, interconnected mechanical, bio-energetic system.A long-time resident of Asheville, I am a member of the Asheville Chamber of Commerce and the Executive Association of Greater Asheville. An avid lover of the outdoors and enjoys road and mountain biking, kayaking, and backpacking with my two sons.
