I am an experienced leader, dancer, choreographer, curriculum developer, director, and manager with a demonstrated history of working in dynamic and diverse environments. With tenured experience in dance, dance education, as well as management, I am a unique blend of dance arts professional and thoughtful, effective educator with experience teaching and developing courses in non-hierarchical Dance technique including Modern, Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Ballroom/Social, Hip Hop, Dance History and Humanities, Dance Production and Technical Theatre, Choreography and Composition, Dance Science, as well as a variety of Somatic-based formats including yoga and Pilates. I am an educator that strives to facilitate and foster a laboratory environment for students to experience the holistic entity of dance and movement, while simultaneously giving them a strong foundation in technique and a reverence for their bodies’ capacities. On a functional level, I can provide students with skills and tools to access healthy and joyful relationships to movement through mobility, stability, kinesthetic awareness, dynamics, effort, subtlety, strength, musicality, and rhythm.I have performed the works Donna Uchizono, Deganit Shemy, Meghan McCoy and Dancers as well as a solo Dance Artist in theatres and festivals in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Brooklyn, London and Colchester, Vermont. I have choreographed and presented work for several public schools and Community Colleges as well as for private and public performances. Additionally, I have experience in making dance for film and have directed, filmed and edited several dance short films.
