As a second year PhD student specialising in medical statistics, with particular interest in capture-recapture methods, meta-analysis and epidemiology, my focus is on statistical methods and their applications within the field of medicine. This is supported through previously taking taught modules on regression for the statistical methods themselves, as well as epidemiology, clinical trials and statistical genetics for the applications.Current research is focused on adjusting rates of disease when there is systematically missing data, with a case study application of adjusting the rates of suicide after bariatric surgery, with the goal of providing methods for more accurate parameter estimation. A consequence of this being identification of possible risk factors and raising awareness in order to aid in reducing the disease rates.
