Civil Engineer Iii
• Reviews, analyses, and evaluates engineering designs and specifications, operation and maintenance plans, Nutrient Management Plans, and other technical and scientific information required by Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) in support permit applications for compliance with state laws and regulations, and department procedures, policies and guidelines to ensure the protection of public health and the environment. • Coordinates and conducts site visits and technical, regulatory and administrative meetings with applicants, permittees, other state, federal and local government agencies, and citizens to provide advice regarding permitting and environmental issues related to the management and utilization of biosolids in Maryland in accordance with applicable department procedures, policies and guidelines. • Coordinates and conducts informational meetings and public hearings for biosolids utilization permits in accordance with applicable department procedures, policies and guidelines. • Prepares biosolids utilization permits in accordance with the current standard. • Updates the department’s and other section databases with all information on all assigned projects and maintains updated fact sheets and monthly reports for all assigned projects.
