Puerto Rican living in Stockholm. Collectively spent 10 years of life learning, living, and working in other countries from childhood to adulthood.Lindsay Balfour is the Head of Education for Strawbees where she is responsible for creating a strategic vision based on creative learning pedagogy for Strawbees Classroom, a learning platform for teachers and students. She has authored many visually inclusive resources for children and informative guides for educators globally. As an educator, she has facilitated engaging K-12 hands-on learning experiences at museums, libraries, and makerspaces for over 8 years. Her fondness for education started as a Maker Corps Member through Maker Education Initiative and at the Children's Creativity Museum where she demystified STEAM learning through daily workshops using tools and technologies to teach creativity and collaboration. She is passionate about priming environments for meaningful making, by creating personal learning experiences for youth to engage in while focusing on girl-focused programs targeting ages 8-12.She aspires to become a role model for children, families, and educators as a leader for inspiring creators to make for the sake of meaning.
