I wrote the paper "Parking Strategies to Support Livable Communities," co-authored the paper on Parking Management Strategies and developed a Parking Toolkit for municipal planners to address parking problems in their communities. Municipal representatives from diverse communities around the region served on my Parking Advisory Committee to provide local input. I managed the team that created the Case Studies Library and I led the team that developed the Infill Snapshot Report, to create an inventory of potentially underutilized land in the 7 counties. In addition to research and mapping, my job responsibilities also include working with community leaders and facilitating public outreach meetings.I am also a part of CMAP's Local Technical Assistance program, funded by HUD's Sustainable Communities Initiative. I've served as the CMAP representative on the Kane County Transit Committee, Pace Bus' Transit Guidelines Advisory Committee, RTA's Transit Guidelines Committee, the CEED@Chicago Data Subcommittee, and the Chicago Food Policy Advisory Council's Compost Working Group.

CurrentThe Parking Reform Network is a public benefit, non-profit organization with the goal of educating the public about parking policy and assisting others with parking reform. Our focus is on the collection and dissemination of support materials, creation of networking opportunities, and policy review.Parking Reform is the use of policies and activism to discourage excessive construction of parking supply and encouragement of more equitable, efficient and sustainable management of existing parking supply (usually by pricing parking).
Community Planner
Promoting new technology and GIS to State Departments of Transportation, creating database of best practices, assisting with the GIS for Transportation Symposium (GIS-T).
Municipal Planner
Worked with local community groups to engage citizens in the prioritization of development projects, created GIS-based maps of all 32 communities in the municipality of Rio Hondo, Zacapa. Secured donations of books to help start a local library, participated in the local movement to prevent a major hydro-electric plant from being built in the protected forest by creating GPS-based maps of the location, and giving data to locals. Also taught English on the side and swam in lots of waterfalls - because it was often over 110 degrees in my community.
