I am a civil servant, architecture enthusiast, and building code nerd with ten years specializing in building code and design of New York City public schools, bridging the gap between design professionals and code officials to deliver municipal approvals of hundreds of capital improvement projects on time and with integrity. Academically, I am interested in both the regulation of architecture and the architecture of regulatory systems, as well as the political contexts underlying each. Professionally, I like to improve systems, building bridges between people and processes. My favorite work touches on themes of technology, analytics, and institutional learning. I am a firm believer in the power of people to change their organizations and their world for the better.I volunteer as an officer and committee chair for my union, the Civil Service Technical Guild.
