ACCOMPLISHMENTS:· Selected by the VA to fix the troubled, in-crisis Washington DC Medical Center https://goo.gl/p53kk9 .· In only six weeks after taking over this medical center in crisis, I stabilized the facility and accomplished the following: · Stood up a supply system where none previously existed, operationalizing a logistics program (GIP) from ground zero. · Directed a 90 day surplus of medical supplies during the DCVAMC crisis to ensure adequate medical supplies were on hand during the crisis and to mitigate the change of prime vendors during the crisis ensuring uninterrupted, safe quality care for our Veterans.· Stabilized the critical shortage of Sterile Processing (SPS) shortages. Ensured competencies and SOPs were 100% in only four weeks. Implemented modifications to the SPS contract and hired additional personnel to ensure my SPS section could sustain safe operations.· Immediately filled critical shortages in key leadership areas. Removed personnel responsible for the crisis, ensuring accountability is adhered to in this facility.· Immediately posted over 200 positions (vacancies) needed throughout the facility to ensure safe operations and provide quality care to our Veterans.· Immediately stabilized and put controls in place for the facility's budget, where previously there were no controls in existence. As a result, the facility remained solvent and on target at year end FY17.
