I work with clients on a range of communication and strategic planning goals. Directed the School of Communication & Media. Managed 46 full-time and 20 part-time faculty members and 3 administrative staff. Oversaw daily functioning of the School, which included 1,600 students in four B.S. programs (Journalism & Emerging Media, Media & Entertainment, Organizational & Professional Communication, and Public Relations), undergraduate minors in Organizational & Professional Communication, Public Relations, and Crisis Preparedness, the M.A. in Integrated Global Communication, a fully online graduate certificate in Digital & Social Media, and the Center for Sustainable Journalism. Responsibilities included a commitment to student success through close coordination with a team of advisors, the support of three successful student organizations, and listening to and responding to feedback from faculty and students.

Taught courses to support the Media & Entertainment major, Research Methods for all SOCM majors, and Introduction to Mass Communication. Continued research & service responsibilities.

Primary responsibilities included creating the semester schedule with 176 unique sections, enrollment management and making adjustments based on student demand; recruiting, hiring, and evaluating part-time faculty; advising center liaison; point of contact for students with interest in the majors or transfer students; process and make decisions for course override requests and degree plan substitutions; professional development lead for 44 full-time faculty; technical and pedagogical support for Desire2Learn and other online & hybrid modality situations.

Responsible for teaching courses in the School of Communication & Media. Content areas include courses that support the Media Studies undergraduate concentration, the MA in Integrated Global Communication, and Graduate Certificate in Digital & Social Media.

I taught in the English, Technical Communication & Media Arts Department. Courses included public speaking, small group communication, health communication, business communication, public relations, marketing communication and research methods at the undergraduate and graduate levels. My service responsibilities were mostly in the area of student life and leadership. I continued a research agenda in mass communication/media studies, media history, and communication pedagogy.

Taught multiple sections of Human Communication, Public Speaking, and Intro to Mass Media. Served as Honors Program Director and advisor to the Honors Student Group. Advised the GHC GLBTSA student organization. Officer in the GHC chapter of American Association of Women in Community Colleges. Academic advisor to students of all majors.

Served as the faculty advisor to the student organization at Auburn University responsible for entertainment programming for the campus and community, supervised 2 administrative assistants and 50 student leaders, managed a budget of $750,000 of student activity fee money for concerts, comedian shows, variety and educational programming; served on numerous university-wide committees
