Whilst working in the power industry I have been involved in a large volume of high voltage primary and secondary commissioning projects throughout Australia and overseas, from an assistant through to commissioning manager. Below is a brief outline of tasks undertaken on a regular basis:Secondary Testing - Full acceptance and routine testing and commissioning of the following schemes:• Transformer and trans line differential • Trans line impedance protection • Bus protection - high and low impedance • Overcurrent protection• Earth fault and sensitive earth fault protection• Capacitor bank protection• Motor protection• Interlocking and all facets of primary/secondary integration worksPrimary Testing -• Partial discharge - offline testing• Power transformers (up to 330kV) - advanced acceptance and diagnostics testing• Rotating machines - ELCID testing• CT’s and VT’s - full acceptance and class verification testing• Switchboards & Circuit Breakers/Switchgear - full acceptance testing• Cables, MV and HV - acceptance and diagnostics testing • Earthing system electrical testing• Transmission line impedance • High voltage withstand at 50Hz up to 130kV - all primary plant• HV capacitor bank & reactor testingTest Equipment Utilised - • Omicron - primary and secondary test (advanced experience CPC & CMC)• Doble - primary and secondary test• Megger, ISA, Fluke, Programmer, Phenix, Flir, Mitton, HVA, Torkel, EA Technology +more
