ROLE FUNCTIONReporting to the director of construction, the role is to manage and supervise the execution of the civil works, tunnels mainly, engineering and administrative roles, work scheduling, production, cost, quality and safety control.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Schedule the activities and hire a team before each project starts;• Prepare daily and weekly reports on production, equipment control, delays and blasting reports;• Prepare drilling and blasting pattern;• Prepare and analyze a monthly cash flow report;• Negotiate directly with clients and work materials and equipment providers;KEY ACHIEVEMENTS• When I started working at Pedra Branca I was supposed to receive training from an experiencedengineer but as this engineer left the company on the week before I had to take over an on-goingproject and start working with no training since day one. The support came only through e-mails andphone calls so I had to learn everything extremely quick and gladly, I did. After three months and having finished the construction of the first tunnel, I developed all the schedule of a new project where I’m currently working.• I have developed a user friendly software in Excel VBA to make my daily reports quicker to fill and easier to access;

ROLE FUNCTION Reporting to the Ventilation Engineer, responsible for carrying out the responsibilities of the ventilation engineer such as designing the mine ventilation system, manage the ventilation simulation (model of the mine), and assist the mine engineering team by conducting ventilation scenario planning to achieve the mine plan. Also, to provide technical advice on ventilation systems to operational staff and to ensure compliance with company standards and guidelines. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Development of a risk assessment software using Visual Basic (good knowledge of Risk Assessment and Management); • Two months experience underground with a mine development crew working with all different scenarios seen in underground mine development such as cutting, bolting, concreting, scaling and blasting; KEY ACHIEVEMENTS • Contributed to Solid Energy from the first days of work by taking responsibility for developing a Risk Assessment software. To achieve the goal I had to quickly learn programming and how to work with MS Access, something I had never tried before. I also had to learn the principles of Risk Assessment and how to execute it. Development of this software allowed for clarity and ease of access to information across the organisation, and ease of reporting on specific items;

ROLE FUNCTION Reporting to the Project Manager, the role consisted of following up of major projects, being part of the strategic planning and decision-making, day-to-day tasks such as preparation of project and operation reports; KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Follow up of the construction of Arena Grêmio, a soccer stadium in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Audit the work to see if it’s reaching the daily, weekly and monthly deadlines as scheduled;• Guide media and other authorized visitors through the construction site and provide information regarding the project; • Preparation of monthly report of the construction work; • Analysis and preparation of work schedules. Preparation of reports and presentations regarding analyzed schedules; KEY ACHIEVEMENTS • Quickly learnt how to read and properly understand design plants, including architectural, electrical, hydraulic and telecom designs so I could perform schedule analysis and preparation of reports. As a mining engineer, I had to extend my knowledge to comprehend a wide range of civil engineering subjects to get involved in the current projects of NAUE, specially the Arena Gremio construction; • Obtained an excellent understanding of project management, learning the steps of project planning and organizing; • Part of a team which created a method to check all the installation requirements for each section of each floor of the Arena Gremio Stadium, room by room, using MS Project; • Brainstormed with team members to challenge OAS’s schedule (Company responsible for the stadium construction) regarding the most efficient way to reach the deadlines in relation to the building structure progression. I came up with the idea of changing the clockwise sectional building order to avoid the congestion of machinery like cranes working at the same spot by the end of the project;
