I was mainly active as a business analyst, application designer and web developer. My tasks included team leadership and managing projects. Again, understanding the customer's situation and translating their need to a technical solution appealed to me most.I also was the manager of Quality Assurance within the company. This led me to research, select and implement methods for source control, development frameworks, ORM (Object Relational Mapping) and some coding design principles (dependency injection and inversion of control).Techniques used in web development were ColdFusion, ASP.Net, javascript and XML.From 2006 till 2009 I was a member of the Executive Team. I stepped down to focus on the process of migrating to Australia.

I designed and built a system that automates the flow of applications for lease of business means (the core business) via the various divisions of the company, like account management and credit analysis.An important part of this role was speaking to the future users who represented different departments within the organisation and therefore had different needs and wishes for the system. Getting them to agree on the specifications took some discussion.A custom version of this intranet application was also built by me for the mother company, ABN AMRO bank in the Netherlands.

The main focus of Maerlant was to build web facing applications. Tools used were ColdFusion and Microsoft ASP, combined with various DBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).I learned that the interaction with customers and the confirmation that solutions had value to them insprired me most.

Hired as a webmaster for the Dutch internet portal 'AgriPlus' . Studying IT core concepts, databases, SQL and programming (in ColdFusion) caused a shift in tasks towards web development. Also, I got my first taste of what it means to offer solutions that have value to stakeholders.
