Implementation and verification of a smart dead time concept for a GaN gate driver as part of a high voltage boost converter targeting maximum efficiency across PVT with robustness against the high switching speed that comes with the GaN FETs and therefore, high ringing caused by parasitic inductances.

• Design of CMOS I/O buffer module for communication between 20GSPS DAC and FPGA, meeting the target speed of 200MHz (across PVT corners) and DC specifications ((VIH_MIN, VIL_MAX, VOH_MIN, VOL_MAX, input leakage currents etc.) using low power design methodologies• Modeling of the unterminated transmission line being driven by the CMOS driver and the packagepower supply inductances and assessing the added power supply switching noise
