Assist with curriculum development, course administration, in-class lecturing, assignment and exam grading, and student advising for various health policy and management courses, including Tools and Methods of Quality Improvement; Practice and Culminating Experience for Health Policy (2016-19); Skills & Methods of Health Care Negotiation & Conflict Resolution (2017-18); Public Health Leadership Skills (2017).

Work with local health care advocacy organizations such as Community Catalyst and Health Care For All on public health and health policy issues. Conducted research and policy analysis and drafted informational and advocacy briefs on topics ranging from economic and social determinants of health to patient financial assistance policies to MassHealth ACO regulations, including best practices for the establishment of PFACs.

Conducted research, writing and editing on various topics related to crisis leadership, preparedness, public health and public safety for the NPLI, a joint effort between Harvard Chan and the Kennedy School of Government. Facilitated and conducted field research in St. Louis, Missouri investigating the response to the 2015-16 civil unrest following the police-involved shooting of Michael Brown; interviewed first responders and co-authored Case History with lessons learned and recommendations for crisis leaders on prevention of and preparedness for prolonged civil unrest. Assisted with organizational development, including business strategy, partnership building, project management, and intern supervision. Aid in curriculum design and development for graduate and executive-level leadership and health care education programs.

Plan, coordinate, and evaluate institutional functions of risk management, including patient complaints, incident reports, root cause analysis, and sentinel event reporting. Monitor and assess institutional risks and identify opportunities for improvement in order to reduce professional and general liability through resolution of known or suspected problems. Provide ongoing training and education to staff and affiliated clinicians regarding risk management and patient safety concerns. Report to and collaborate with Sr. Director for Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety and Chief Medical Officer. Responsible for external regulatory reporting, including to the Board of Registration of Medicine, the Department of Public Health, The Joint Commission, the FDA, and OSHA.

Litigation: Assisted in representation of corporations, financial institutions and individuals in complex commercial litigation, including contract disputes and business torts; intellectual property litigation, including patent infringement, trade secret and copyright matters; employment litigation and arbitration; and state and federal government investigations. Assisted in representation of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court in state-wide investigation into handling of certain criminal cases. Real estate: Assisted in representation of developers, governmental authorities, lenders, private institutions and individuals in acquisitions, leasing transactions, financing, loan modifications, zoning matters, and purchase and sale of residential units, as well as various other real estate matters affecting Choate’s trust clients. Pro Bono: Represented an elderly homeless client in a housing matter before the Boston Housing Authority; assisted in representation of non-profit organization in sale and leaseback of property; assisted in representation of an individual in a criminal investigation by the Drug Enforcement Agency and United States Attorney’s office.

Prepared course materials for the Legal Practice Skills Department. Participated in and led in-class workshops and demonstrations and advised students on course preparation and completion of assignments. Provided research and writing assistance to individual professors for articles and other publications.
