My diverse experiences have provided me with a strong foundation that is focused on doing what is right, working extremely hard, and an ability to adapt to new and varied environments. I was also given an opportunity to work for two different types of businesses. Ontel, a consumer products company, had an entrepreneurial “can-do” culture that helped it compete and win against much larger and established consumer products companies. Chewy, Inc. provided me with the opportunity to explore new career paths within accounting, which I hadn't previously considered. The Finance Transformation sector within the accounting department allowed me to learn a new analytical tool, Alteryx, which focused on automation and digitalizing long processes. In learning this tool, I was able to assist the company in saving over 100 hours of efficiency per year by creating 5 workflows within the Alteryx tool for the accounting team. I was also entrusted to assist in the implementation of the Alteryx initiative by managing various department's progress on workflow creation and saving metrics. Overall, this experience taught me leadership, adaptability, and innovation. My experience at Ontel provided with an amazing experience which utilized my knowledge of analytical tools to make their processes more efficient. Both organizations demonstrated the importance of teamwork, flexibility, and hard-work. Finally, my travel to West Virginia to help rebuild homes destroyed by natural disaster reinforced my desire to work for organizations that are focused on doing good in the world as well as how important it was for businesses to be as efficient as possible, so they can set funds aside for unforeseen circumstances. I also met some truly fabulous people in the Mountain State which reminded me how rewarding and interesting life can be if people are forced ourselves out of our comfort zone. My experiences are the initial blocks in my journey to build a strong business foundation. I look to continue building my foundation by learning new skills, challenging myself through new experiences and by deploying what I have learned to the benefit of the organization I work for.
