Responsible for creating an application development architecture, technology / systems architecture and overseeing project compliance to those architectures. Also responsible for mapping the DuPont R&D application portfolio and rationalizing new application offerings for research. Additional leadership given to disaster recovery/business continuity activities for infrastructure and applications used by the technology community. Responsible for being the liaison between R&D computing and corporate IT.

Instructing community teams in how to respond to natural and man-made disasters. Specialties include: First Aid, Search and Rescue and Cribbing.

Led an organization of 50 people providing IT infrastructure including Windows NT, VMS, UNIX, Network and High Performance Computing infrastructure to the diverse research community in DuPont. Responsible for a $17MM budget which included all expenses related to computer room operations and service delivery. Other areas of responsibility included Business Continuity Planning, Business Strategy Planning and Administrative functions.

Provided UNIX System Engineering and Design to projects ranging from integrating laboratory automation systems to engineering and maintaining High Performance Computing facilities for Computational Chemistry, Computational Physics and Computational Biology. Member of 3 person team that designed, proposed and implemented a High Performance Computing cluster that included RISC and Linux based computing and hight availability storage. Built UNIX competency from 4 people to 10 people in order to service exploding need for HPC/UNIX services.

Provided high quality UNIX and VMS computing services to Geologists and Geophysicists in search of oil reserves world wide. Responsible for the automation of system management functions to reduce number of analysts needed to support vast array of computing platforms resulting in cost savings of approximately $170K/year.
