Community Safety Glasgow is an organisation jointly owned by Glasgow City Council and The Scottish Police Authority, delivering over 20 extremely diverse public services. In my time there I had responsibility for:Strategy, planning, copywriting, management and delivery of social media across multiple Community Safety Glasgow accounts to highlight different areas of the organisation.Launching and managing social media channels for Glasgow City Council’s new Environmental Task Force initiative.Measurement and analysis of social media efforts.Introducing new social media management tools to the organisation, including Social SignIn,Buffer and Tweetdeck.Reporting social media performance weekly to the managing director and monthly to the seniormanagement team.Building a network of social media champions across the business to support content creation.Social media training for teams and individuals across Community Safety Glasgow and TheEnvironmental Task Force.

Nucleus is an innovative financial services start-up, which provides an online investment platform. In my time here the company has more than doubled in size to 100 staff and has moved into profitability. Here’s what I’ve worked on at Nucleus:Implementing and managing Nucleus’ social media activity. This has included managing our online reputation and profiles across all social media tools.Developing and introducing a new set of company values for Nucleus and subsequently working across the company to embed them. Running the campaign to see Nucleus being awarded the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Small Company to Work For in 2012.Relaunching the Nucleus website, with improved navigation, more content and a fresher look and feel (this led to a 26% growth in visitors over the last six months).Running the media programme for Nucleus. This includes managing the relationship with the media agency, sourcing potential opportunities to raise the profile of the company and dealing with journalist queries.Planning and delivering all internal communications across online and face-to-face channels. This includes corporate news, people initiatives, internal events, product developments and marketing campaigns.Acting as a strategic adviser for senior managers on staff issues, engagement and internal communication.Application and promotion of the Nucleus brand internally, externally, and across all communications.Being part of the crisis management team, working with senior management to respond to crisis situations, minimising any risk or damage to the brand and people.Carrying out research (internal and external) to inform and shape communications.

At Standard Life I worked in the group internal communications team where I was responsible for communicating to 10,000 staff across multiple locations internationally, focusing on: Responsible for the successful company-wide internal communication and promotion of the Standard Life 2011 rebrand.Creating and managing internal communication strategies and campaigns across business areas at a UK and group-wide/international level.Being a business partner for the UK Marketing function.Providing internal communications consultancy, support and delivery to various projects across the business, from transformation initiatives, redundancies and restructures to product launches and advertising campaigns like ‘active money’.Managing and editing key channels, including the intranet, e-communications, bulletins, newsletters and the group-wide ‘Standard’ print magazine. In my last four months I then worked to move the magazine into a digital format.Working with the business-wide crisis management project team on internal communications.
