CurrentPublic Information Officer | Emergency Response Crisis Communications | Tourism SpecialistCreative Director | Marketing | Consultant | Trainer | Professional Photographer• Assists in the development of strategic plans and organizing Communications and Public Relations (CPR) operations • Supports the County’s efforts with regard to media relations, public information, tourism, public affairs, publications, and community relations• Acts as the County Public Information Officer (PIO) in his/her absence • Establishes and maintains positive, open, and informative relationships with the news media, public, staff, department directors, County Manager and County Council, and other PIO stakeholders• Serves as primary point of contact during emergency situations and coordinates crisis communications • Researches, develops, and writes RFPs, serves as a project manager and oversees contracts• Writes and edits copy from all county departments, including press releases, presentations, annual reports, digital newsletters, and other formats as necessary• Coordinates and works with web and social media administrators and contractors to ensure content, layout, and appearance of web pages and social media posts are consistent and adhere to County policies and branding standards• Assists County departments in developing and implementing communication strategies to effectively communicate messages, initiatives, programs, policies, and projects, and where applicable, engage target audiences• Provides effective advice and counsel on strategic and/or critical public relations and tourism issues • Serves as graphics design, photography, marketing, social media, and event planning expert for county departments, contractors, and community organizations• Creates and executes presentations and educational training classes• Facilitates and coordinates surveys and assessments of internal and external public entities to determine effectiveness of programs, activities and campaigns
