CurrentThrough investor and governmental support, MedifVu is in the midst of a new phase; to be prepared, much work is being dedicated to developing the 'iHealthAssist' software beyond minimum-viable-product (MVP). The 'iHealthAssist' software is designed to improve the information available to doctors and consumers about prescription medication. It soon became evident that aspects of the MVP needed to be changed, as well as integrating new features. This entailed overhauling a large portion of the current framework and redesigning it for functionality, efficiency, redundancy, and especially security. This redesign includes new hardware and software with a central focus on integration to simplify future upgradability. The large nature of this project has led to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to conceptualize the project from the ground up. AI has played a pivotal role in technical decisions, as well as in running security audits to ensure quality. The decision to use AI is due to the importance of the data involved in 'iHealthAssist'; specifically Electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI). ePHI data is subject to HIPAA regulations, and therefore the framework that stores ePHI files must meet strict guidelines. Though navigable, AI has allowed for more seamless integration between the legal aspects and the technical/engineering aspects of this project. Particularly, reading the legal guidelines of HIPAA laws and translating them into technical configurations. This advice allowed for the development of various plugins that are integrated with one another and the server itself. These plugins, as well as other security measures, protect the whole framework as well as guarantee HIPAA-compliant security measures where they are needed.The desired outcome of this project is to create a more finished product and allow for easier expansion in the future and before initial use; this was done in order to avoid overhauling larger features while in operation.
