As the Aviation Director I was responsible for the City's large general aviation airport with three runways and 1260 acres of land. Major tenants include Duncan Aviation, Waco Classic Aircraft, Western Michigan University College of Aviation, FAA Flight Inspection Field Office and the Michigan Air National Guard. The airport is a major employment center with approximately 1500 jobs and compliments the adjacent 3000 acre Fort Custer Industrial Park, one of the premier international business parks in the Midwest and North America with more than 90+ companies employing more than 13,000 individuals are based in this industrial park.For the past 8 years I had the additional administrative oversight of the City's Transit and Train Station operations. Typical work included influencing/negotiating with Federal agencies such as Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Transit Administration, Federal Railroad Administration and the National Guard Bureau. During that time I designed and implemented a large rail road Quiet Zone to eliminate the routine sounding of train horns and improve quality of life for all persons and businesses located in the zone. Effective April of 2019 I was released to return to the airport full time for the purpose of maximizing the value of the airport in the community by increasing both aeronautical and non-aeronautical development of the airport. Current capital investment for the airport in calendar year 2019 is more than $41 million.The airport is host to one of the top 10 airshows in the country, Battle Creek Field of Flight, which has occurred over the Independence Day holiday for more than 35 years.

Continue as an exofficio board member and continue work on legislative efforts to reform funding for the Michigan State Aeronautics Fund.

Served as the Manager on Duty for GRR in Grand Rapids Michigan.

Responsible for the day to day operations of the airport, one of the busiest single runway airports in the United States.
