About Leandro Ceotto Freitas Lima
Every kid has the “why” period. It is the time when they start to question everything and are unstoppable seekers for answers and reasons for things. I believe I have always been in that period, a restless seeker for the “why.” Since my BPharm and Medical Analysis studies, I was already fascinated with sciences and tried to understand why my family developed type 2 diabetes so early, even with a healthy lifestyle. Because of that, I smoothly changed my academic formation and research field to energy metabolism and diabetes studies.To track that path, and even during my PhD, I have been acquiring international experience in science, project management, teaching, mentoring, and technology. During this time, I have worked on numerous projects involving cellular and preclinical models for drug discovery/new therapeutic strategies for obesity and diabetes treatment. Using mainly a molecular biology approach, and have gained expertise in a wide range of techniques, including RT-qPCR, cloning, binding assay, beyond primary mammalian culture, and immunoassays.From my career perspective, I want to expand the area of knowledge I have been studying where I can put my skills to good use to bring a new perspective to the metabolism field resulting in patient aid and benefit.If you are interested in it, I would love to chat with you.
