For the past 33 years, I have served as an electronics engineer in the research and engineering directorate of NASA Glenn Research Center. I relish technical challenges and opportunities to work on R&D projects spanning multiple disciplines, from digital/analog hardware design, robotics and optics to CAD work and material testing. My work highlights to date include co-designing active experiments for the International Space Station and Martian rover Sojourner; building high temperature, SiC electronics packages for extended Venus science missions; receiving four patents; and serving as a first author or co-author on over 40 publications. I strive to provide customers and collaborators, from the Department of Defense to university partners, with well-scoped technical solutions that advance their missions and address needs while minimizing costs. My family and I are in the process of relocating to the metro Columbia, South Carolina, region.   • Designed, built and tested a novel particle impact ejecta sensor (PIE) and co-designed the associated signal conditioning electronics for plume surface interaction (PSI) data collection in support of future commercial lunar payload services (CLPS) missions and Mars landers for saltation measurements.• Co-designed the layout of a novel 500 °C, SiC one-bit microcontroller using S-Edit within the Tanner software suite and provided a means to program the device by creating an adaptable… Show more • Designed, built and tested a novel particle impact ejecta sensor (PIE) and co-designed the associated signal conditioning electronics for plume surface interaction (PSI) data collection in support of future commercial lunar payload services (CLPS) missions and Mars landers for saltation measurements.• Co-designed the layout of a novel 500 °C, SiC one-bit microcontroller using S-Edit within the Tanner software suite and provided a means to program the device by creating an adaptable universal assembler that utilizes editable argument, code and global tabular files to generate applicable machine code corresponding to user defined assembly constructs.• Co-designed, built and tested the electronics and software for the Forward Technology Solar Cell Experiment (FTSCE) as part of the materials on the international space station experiment (MISSE5) mission which collected IV measurements for advanced technology solar cells, recorded sun position, acquired sun power levels and instrument temperature measurements.• Co-designed and constructed an optimized hardware correlator that incorporated a state-of-the-art fuzzy-pattern comparator and a programmable gate array to implement a video acquisition system to calculate the hamming distance between two speckle patterns in real-time for a laser speckle shift strain measurement system.• Designed and constructed a universal robotic controller and motor driver capable of using communication over power lines to link system components which was used to test various experimental designs for robotic vehicles used in homeland defense and lunar exploration.
