As Director of Louisiana's Music Programs and Music Officer for the State, Lacey oversees music policies and initiatives for the Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism, where she is expanding the traditional scope of the state's cultural development and tourism offices. This includes taking the lead on the Louisiana Music Trail- the state's largest music initiative to highlight the history of Louisiana's treasured music innovators and to help drive tourism and economic recovery from the pandemic. She is diligently working to preserve Louisiana's unique music culture, implement long-range music industry best practices across the state, and bridge the economic gaps to enhance the quality of life for the next generation of music-makers. Lacey previously served as Director for the nation's first economic development-driven state tax incentive program to build, renovate, and restore live performance and recording infrastructure throughout Louisiana post-Katrina. Lacey has been honored by the Recording Academy for her career achievements and community involvement, and she actively serves as a professional member of the Memphis Chapter.In addition to her professional work, Lacey is a classically trained violinist, self-taught fiddle player, record collector, and animal lover.
