1. Battery Supply Chain – Technical• Audit battery plants constantly, evaluating manufacturing processes, technical parameters and cells consistency, and the quality of battery materials and suppliers• Analyze new battery suppliers' technologies and lead the technical analysis of GWh battery cells procurement• Engage existing and new suppliers in a daily basis to evaluate cell performance and request data for sales and clients• Support the sales team to engage customers and secure large project (>100MWh)• Offer advice for management on technical evaluations, quality and UL certifications to facilitate business decisions• Evaluate next-generation battery technologies, including LFP, sodium-ion and flow batteries, for energy storage• Fix cell quality issues, leading to high-quality battery products and no impact on production timelines2. Battery Supply Chain and Strategic Partnership – Business • Support pricing negotiations for leadership team and lead rounds with in-depth knowledge of battery manufacturing and production costs (save costs of > US$7.2 million in leading a PO negotiation) • Manage and oversee battery modules manufacturing suppliers as part of procurement and battery manufacturing• Cell Pricing Analyses: Provide the management team with the up-to-date battery pricing changes • Support cell delivery to Powin’s factory and save costs of >US$2 million by coordinating a production3. Regulatory Certificates• UL Standards Technical Panels (STPs) Committee Member and Powin’s representative in STP• Lead technical regulatory tests including test plans, heating procedures and data analyses, especially UL9540A (3rd and 4th editions)
