La Tasha C. Williams is the 2023 Democratic party-endorsed candidate for Dauphin County Common Pleas Court Judge. She is the founding member and managing attorney at Williams Law Group. Throughout the course of her diverse legal career, Attorney Williams has demonstrated a commitment and passion for representing marginalized groups. She has served her community for more than 20 years as a volunteer legal advocate -- helping wrongly convicted prisoners by re-investigating their case, gathering proof of Brady violations and their actual innocence, and obtaining judicial review of their closed case. After many years of advocating tirelessly for wrongly convicted prisoners, in 2014, Attorney Williams made the decision to become an attorney and enrolled in Widener Law School’s part-time evening program so that she could work full-time during the day and attend law school at night. As a law student, she volunteered with the Lehigh County Public Defender’s Office where she gained invaluable experience defending juvenile and adult clients accused of committing crimes. Upon graduation from law school, Attorney Williams clerked for the Honorable Maria Musti Cook, York County Court of Common Pleas, where she concentrated her legal research and writing in the areas of search and seizure laws, criminal appeals, and the Post-Conviction Relief Act. After her clerkship, Attorney Williams worked as an Assistant District Attorney in York County and later as a Senior Assistant District Attorney in Franklin County prosecuting hundreds of cases at every stage of the criminal judicial process.
