About Loic Claveau

If the long journey I have had so far in this industry taught me anything, it’s humility, an understanding that we need to evolve constantly and the thirst to always learn more. From being a Journalist to guiding a large team of Community folks through being a Brand Manager, these past 20+ years allowed me to work with very smart people who helped me hone my skills everyday.I was lucky enough to see things from unique vantage points, may it be Game Dev Studios, Single Game Publisher/Dev or Multi-franchises Publisher; and I have enjoyed every phases a Game Development has to offer, helping these Online Worlds such as Guild Wars, WildStar or League of Legends, start from scratch or mature along the way. Through them, I lived amazing stories with my fellow players. That’s also where I discovered my passion for everything social and most importantly my constant search to better our player experience. I call it Community Experience (CX) and It brought me to field of expertise that I did not know I needed. By no mean do I claim to be an expert but my quest to understand what makes us tick morphed me into an enthusiast and helped me amassing a lot of knowledge in field such as Neuroscience (especially Neuromarketing), Social Science (Behavioural), Data Science and UX.These helped me not only to become a more versatile Community person by figuring out how to adapt them and get inspired by them in my everyday work but also a better and more empathetic People Manager. Through Coaching and Mentoring, I enjoy helping someone grow into a stronger team member as I learn from them and improve my self-awareness.Hence why I was not surprised when my TELOS turned out to be: “Provide people with the courage and perspective they need to walk their own path because I believe when we make confident decisions we are empowered.”Anyway, welcome to my LinkedIN profile, and do not hesitate to say Hi. I am always looking forward to meeting interesting people!

    Cmo & Crypto Enthusiast
    Victoria Vr Jun 2022 - Jul 2023
    Prague, Cz
Building the Marketing department from scratch according to my Player Holistic Journey concept: every player touch with us should be handled under the same unified team:- Performance Marketing (inbound/outbound) – what players will hear and see from us- Community and Social Media – what players will say about us- Influencers Marketing – what players will hear being said about us- Player Support – what players will need when they encounter issues- PRM (aka CRM) – what players will tell us about how good/bad we generally performNow, add to the mix a pinch of Crypto/Blockchain and sprinkles of VR, and here you are with a challenging and yet fascinating canvas for your marketing activations. And believe me, these last two ingredients which will DEFINITELY change your marketing/community strategies, your demographic and your comfort zone as a marketeer coming from AAA gaming industry. I am loving every minute of it as I am doing one of my favorite thing: I keep learning new things! And of course, I am doing the usual: People Management, budgeting, third party outsourcing, building Biz decks and being a stakeholder in b2b discussions with potential partners.

  • Sharkmob
    Head Of Player Relations
    Sharkmob Nov 2020 - Jan 2022
    Malmö, Skåne, Se
I came in Sharkmob with lots of ideas, concepts, processes about how I thought it would be best for us to interact with our Community. I was very happy albeit a little bit shocked to have my ideas received with open arms. Thus, I have been able to blueprint, shape and launch this new department that we call Player Relations. In a nutshell, we take care of what is traditionally called Community and Social as well as Influencer Relations. But what could be a bit odd for other game studios is that we also take care of Player Support (as opposed to Customer) as well as CRM Automation. Why combine all these initiatives under the same umbrella? One answer: The Holistic Player Journey. The goal is to make sure that we cater to all of our players for however long their journey is, trying to learn about their wants and needs and how we can improve their stay with us, every step of the way.Our aim is to think long term, which means that we are building not only a Game Community but a Studio Community so that our players can relate to our values and end up giving us the most precious gift: their trust.
