As Strategic Development Leader, I drive the strategic agenda for the Mercer Wealth businesses in the Pacific region.Partnering with our Wealth CEOs and Senior Leaders, I develop and execute strategic plans that are grounded in robust evidence, to drive business growth, risk management, and industry leadership.

I work with employers and super funds trustees, helping them to create better financial outcomes for their employees and super fund members through super fund mergers (SFTs) and corporate plan transfers.Selecting a new super fund can be complex, with competitive fees, consistent performance and the right insurance cover just the foundations.By redesigning and 'industrialising' our new business processes, we are better positioned to effectively communicate Mercer Super's strengths persuasively and consistently - delivering enhanced client segmentation and uplifted sales communications and collateral, supported by centralised approval and update processes. This freed up our new business people to focus on what they do best.

SleeperTech’s technologies have the power to revolutionise comfort in economy class air and rail travel - all within existing weight and space constraints. I’m helping the SleeperTech leadership team to bring their vision to market - because radically increased comfort is an obvious win for passengers that creates sustainable competitive advantage for carriers.

As business lead for the BT Super fund merger, I worked closely with BT Super's trustee and advisers – leading the team responsible for improving financial outcomes for the fund's 500k members.Following successful implementation of the SFT in March 2023, Mercer Super doubled in size, managing $63b for over 850,000 members.Broad-reaching responsibilities included the analysis and recommendations that established the SFT process, issuing Request for proposals (RFPs) and assessing responses, and making evidence-based recommendations to the trustee regarding the preferred super fund merger partner.Additional complexities of intense regulatory scrutiny, and corporate shareholder (Westpac) interests were managed through establishment of appropriate conflicts management and governance frameworks that enabled their needs to be met, and approvals granted.

Led the team responsible for strategy, product innovation, and delivery of the Trustee’s objectives.Launched BT Super, delivering the market-leading 'Panorama' user experience to members.Executed 5 super fund transfers (SFTs) in 4 years, radically simplifying the business and driving out significant regulatory and operational risk, complexity and cost. This included the transfer of $21.3b assets for 446k members, and the termination of 20 super products, 4 super funds, 3 PSTs and 4 registry systems.I had the privilege of acting as Master of Ceremonies for both of BT's inaugural Annual Member Meetings (video in links!) and also led development of BT's strategic response on regulatory reforms, including Member Outcomes.

Leveraged Product, Project, SME and strategic capabilities to solve complex business challenges, arising in the implementation of a $650m, multi-year wealth transformation program, at the core of future growth strategy.Led an agile team of 10 people, to design solutions impacting over 500 products, 8 IT platforms and 9 brands, balancing tactical and strategic business needs with Regulatory, Tax, Risk and Commercial considerations.Led teams in Design Thinking to design Offers, including:- Innovative “Direct to Customer” proposition with multi-channel client support, opening a lucrative new sales channel- Platform migration roadmap, rationalising products, processes & locations to release significant financial benefits- New Financial Adviser remuneration model, enabling continued distribution under tightened regulatory requirements- Cash structuring model, unlocking additional liquidity following significant regulatory reform.

Full strategic, financial and operational accountability for building new Wealth business and managing existing Insurance business, leading dedicated, specialist Product and Marketing resources.• Developed and piloted a ground-breaking new Financial Advice model, offering affordable and accessible advice to the mass market via a scaled, phone-based model. Key activities included: Customer research, Offer development, cost and pricing models, compliance and risks management, UI/UX design, adviser recruitment, and development of scripting, marketing strategy and collateral.• Managed strategic review of Insurance capabilities and partnerships, developing an alternate model for combined distribution of General and Life Insurance products within Australia with cross sale via home loan sales.• Managed external vendor arrangements to support future business growth: RFP, engagement, selection, monitoring and reporting. Renegotiated commercial terms, creating margin to enable direct distribution via SEO, SEM and aggregators.

Led $14m project incorporating IT platform migration and product upgrades, with over 100 project resources across 4 locations.• Leveraged capabilities of the target IT platform to enhance customer experience and reduce business costs, via improved customer communications, online experience and straight through processing (STP).• Implemented partial currency hedge, reducing downside risk and creating material outperformance versus competitors• Conducted life insurance vendor due diligence: Provided analysis on structure, capital adequacy, risk and contingency plans.

• Led international, cross-functional team, delivering a $14m project to implement large-scale regulatory changes, impacting $35b in AUM across 5 IT platforms. Received Annual “Award for Excellence” for outstanding delivery, setting new internal benchmarks for successful project execution.• Produced innovative solutions to project roadblocks, including online client response mechanisms.
