Led the IT organization through an aggressive divestiture from ING to becoming an stand-alone entity. The scope of our project included replacing all components of IT infrastructure, replacing our data center, telephone systems, all computer equipment, HR systems, Accounting Systems, implementing an IT help desk, and replacing the shared service platforms that had been provided by the old parent. I was part of the team that sold of the company, was personally responsible for defining the separation plan, estimating the cost of this effort, contributing to the creation of the companies Pro Forma's by defining the end state operational budget for all IT services and leading our organization through the execution of the plan. I am proud to say that we completed this ahead of schedule, on budget. To accomplish this we added nearly 50 people to our team for a total of 150 IT professionals working on all aspects of this effort in parallel.An inspirational story of teamwork that I am proud to have been a part of. We are now focused on making our Platform the most referable platform in the industry by providing tools and technology to both employees and our field to help our customers service their clients and grow their business.

Head of IT Applications for four Broker/Dealers. Applications include a web-based broker dealer workstation/portal using .net technologies, a distributed commisions engine, suite of general business applications built both in legacy technologies and web based technologies, and oversight of the data warehouse and reporting marts that are developed from that warehouse.Responsibilities include oversight of a team of 40+ employees and Sourcing contractors. In this role, I drove the advancement of our offshore team and helped drive the size of our offshore team from one individual to a team that is 20+ strong at this time.Our broker/dealer workstation is an online portal that integrates applications from several venders including: Pershing NetxPro, Albridge Wealth Management and Reporting, Morningstar, MoneyGuide Pro, MarketWatch, Amicus email and commissions, and several others.

Created the vision and business case to convince five business units within the US to invest in an enterprise project that would implement Websphere Portal and Stellent Content Management Server as enterprise shared services to create customer facing websites and applications. Responsible for all project execution once funded, built a team of 70+ team members across five business units and led project through the first three sets of deliverables on time and within budget. Success with early phases of this project resulted in the transition from Program Management to Head of Strategic Planning and Architecture to begin setting the strategic direction (2006 and beyond) for the rest of the EBusiness department in partnership with the Head of EBusiness until my transition from the East Coast to West Coast office and shift in responsibilities to the Director of Applications that I now currently hold.

Assumed responsibility as the Head of Enterprise Information Program Management with the program severely behind schedule and over budget. Reorganized into deliverables and rebuilt project team to execute the project management, quality assurance testing and implementation of the first three enterprise deliverables for the EII platform. Platform included an enterprise ODS, an enterprise Data Warehouse, and the first Data Mart to be built on top of the new enterprise information platform. Managed program financials, responsible for staffing, and established program controls to facilitate cross team communication. Established quality metrics within the team to measure progress and provide factual based information to support work effort estimates for each phase of the project

Managed four development teams, a total of 23 people in the day to day production support of over 25 web based applications and utilities, 8 voice response applications, and 4 software applications specifically designed to support a Call Center’s command center. All applications are to support the ING-Worksite Defined Contribution Customer Contact SystemsPartnered with business managers from Business Operations, Sales, Marketing, Product Develop team, Field distribution, E-Business and Sales support to evaluate competitive product features on those applications. Set Strategic Vision for both the business capabilities and the technical transformation required to support those new features for both the Internet and VRU applications. This vision included the migration from Websphere to Weblogic and the building of shareable software components to support not only Web and VRU, but also a legacy C++ desktop application.

Led to create an environmental scan of all New Business applications and technologies to establish a strategic application suite based on web technologies for use by both internal and external constituents.Responsibilities included managing both the Business and IT through obtaining project funding for the $2.5 million effort and led the company through a series of interrelated projects.To accomplish this project I trained a group of business analysts with the use of Use Case technology as a method for capturing and defining those requirements, managed the vendor selection RFP and evaluation for the On-Demand Kit Project that allows the field and sales force the ability to print enrollment materials on demand via the internet eliminating storage and printing of thousands of enrollment kits per year and was responsible for creating the integration strategy that required leading the programming staff both within ING and at the Vendor.

Began career as a developer, consistently being placed in new opportunities every 18 to 24 months. This resulted in hands on programming experience in the following technologies : Cobol, CICS, JCL, SAS, C, VAX, UNIX, C++, Visual Basic, VRU technologies, LU62 protocals between mid-teir servers and mainframes, Client Server, 3-Teir applications, N-Teir applications, CORBA, Java, MFC, Rational Unified Process, Object Oriented Design, SQL, UDB, Sybase, Data Warehousing. My career led to application architecture and design after about six years of success on state of the art projects. A natural extension for me was to move into team leadership and management of strategic projects. My combination a technical background, combined with strong vision and understanding of the business was the foundation for my success at implementing several very large strategic projects, each time with state of the art technology.
