I am a highly skilled and professional Technical / Cloud Architect, with over 22 years of work experience. Having gone through the ranks from 1st to 3rd line support to technical / cloud architect working in various enterprise environments, including utilities, finance / insurance, manufacturing, public services and IT service providers, I fully understand what it takes to design and deliver a working solution to better help the business meet its goals.I am equally happy producing both High- and Low-level detailed design artefacts (HLD’ and LLD’s); ensuring designs adhere to best practices, meet business requirements and satisfy both internal and regulatory security requirements, and getting my hands dirty and actually building and configuring the solutions also.As a self-starter I am constantly studying to improve my skillset and knowledge. Built a 3 node Kubernetes cluster on my home lab and deployed a number of test apps to it. Also did a lot of playing around with Hasicorp’s Terraform. Working in a small team and closely with the technical architect, the role consisted of building out the new server infrastructure which consisted of a 4-node SQL 2005 cluster, hosting 10 instances of SQL, mirrored to a 3-node cluster at a DR site. Then installing all business applications into a new virtual Citrix XenApp 5.0 farm, and updating all documentation to reflect new build.

Was also required to carry out performance tuning and index maintenance of the databases. This part of the role required working closely with the BI Team to ensure all aspects of SQL and applications performed as expected.I also had full responsibility for the VMware infrastructure that spanned a live and DR site (using SAN replication) and was solely responsible for the implementation and upgrade from VI3 to vSphere4. I also planned, designed and implemented an OCS (Office Communications Server) 2007 R2 environment to be used for Instant Messaging and Audio/Video conferencing which included a Standard OCS server, Archiving server (for compliance) and consolidated Edge server to facilitate federation with other Ecclesiastical companies and partners.
