The Social Assistance Committee of the IDB Family Association through it’s branches: Social Programs and Una Mano Amiga Program, in cooperation with the IDB Country Offices, channels economic assistance for the realization of different social programs which have an enormous impact in different communities of Latin America and the Caribbean.• Reviewed the legal background and project requirements of over 51 laptop donation projects destined to benefit children specially and humble population in support organizations, schools and religious institutions that lacked the means to continue with instruction during the pandemic. Approved and successfully channeled to the Board of the IDBFA alongside my fellow Committee members. • Proposed and collaborated along with the Committee President in the implementation of an emergency project donation protocol to be able to expedite help during the pandemic. Reviewed, channeled, and successfully approved over 30 COVID emergency related projects helping affected populations through food supply, medical equipment and emergency supplies.• Reviewed, channeled and approved over 20 social projects presented through Country Offices, creating amazing results with projects created by sensible communities: building classrooms and improving school’s structure; donation and installation of cooking appliances and cooking supplies for schools; donation to install equipment and structure for an artisanal bakery to be managed entirely by the women of a village; building chicken coops, are just examples of the small projects presented to the Committee that have made a huge difference in people’s lives.
