Led a team of Gift Officers and Development Coordinator to build relationships with donors who support McGaw YMCA's mission and programs. Efforts were focused on incorporating innovation as a common thread through the work of the development committee and the annual fund while incorporating storytelling as the primary way to engage donors and new friends of the organization.

As the fundraising strategist for the organization, I oversee the annual campaign of approximately $2 million and special project fundraising through individuals, sponsorships, foundation, and government grants and special events. I lead a three-person annual fund team with an engaged development committee. Additionally, I serve as an advisor for the capital campaign that is currently underway for the Men's Residence, a $14 million project.As a part of this role, I identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships toward obtaining annual gifts. One of my functions is to support executive-level colleagues across the organization in relationship building and high-level volunteer management.

Community relations—I meet with community leaders to explain the North Lawndale project vision and plans. Listen and respond to their concerns, using knowledge of the community, early education practices and funding streams. Additionally, I participate in developing materials and organizing community meetings.Program development—I work with the project partners, considers various ways to reach the program’s goals while accommodating community needs and concerns. I also suggest program modifications or additions as appropriate. Project management—I manage the North Lawndale project schedule, ensure partners stay on task and report progress. In conjunction with the funder, Steans Family Foundation personnel, staffs the governing board and advisory board.Data collection and use—I oversee the data collection and evaluation currently being conducted by Illinois Action for Children and work with the research department to create and administer surveys.
