About Laurent De Janvry

With over two decades of leadership experience in higher education external relations, I help universities and colleges achieve their strategic goals and mission through development best practices, strategic planning, donor analytics, and performance management. As an independent consultant at de Janvry Consulting, I leverage my extensive background in development, alumni and corporate relations, and marketing and communications to create innovative and impactful programs that drive prospect pipeline development, revenue growth and community engagement.Prior to launching my own consulting business, I served as the senior associate dean of external relations for the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, the first new school at Stanford University in over 75 years. There, I oversaw all aspects of branding, marketing, communications, events, and fundraising for the school, and hosted presidential dignitaries, industry executive leaders, and numerous school launch and opening events. Before that, I led the college relations and development team at the University of California, Berkeley, College of Chemistry, where I helped raise $110M of the college’s total $160M for the Light the Way Campaign for Berkeley.
