Combating civil rights injustices in over 22 national issue areas, with a primary focus of Criminal Justice Reform, Reproductive Freedom, LGBTQ Rights, and Immigrant Rights in Texas. I strengthen national partnerships, mid-level partnerships, and create new partnerships with local grassroots organizations on behalf of the ACLU of Texas. I provide [free of charge] "Know Your Rights" training to individuals, organizations, and businesses. I am a voice to the voiceless in the most critical times.

A rigorous academic teacher training and exchange program with special emphasis on Universal Design Learning, Classroom Management, and Leadership Development. This program propelled gifted and talented student teachers into Baltimore and Dallas classrooms to fill and heal the gaps in the public and charter school systems. This is a sister program of Teach For America (TFA)!

I was the president for the Kappa Pi Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated. One of nine historically black organizations in the National Pan-Hellenic Council, we were founded on the principles of Sisterly Love, Finer Womanhood, Scholarship, and Service. Our chapter is building on the principles of Zeta, while blazing new paths. We are an action-oriented, community-conscious organization. We are above the status quo.

I am the lead staff for running the program Teen Leaders Club (formerly known as Club Mid) through the Mounds View Community Center. While building on the 3 pillars of the YMCA (Social responsibility, Healthy living, and Youth development), I work with the youth in the area to help them build their leadership and civic skills as well as encouraging them to develop healthy relatonships. The students also learn to internalize the YMCA core values of responsibility, honesty, respect, and caring.

I lead of team of 12 callers, two nights a week, in order to raise money for a scholarship fund that provided every student in the school with a $600 tuition reduction. I taught the callers how to read and follow a script while sounding professional, confident, and friendly as they called alumni, donors, and friends of the college asking for donations to this fund. I also role-played and gave encouragement to some of my staff that were less confident in their skill of customer service and calling, getting them up to speed with the rest of the team.

I was a sales associate for the Gap Inc./Old Navy company. It was in this environment that I learned many of the customer service and satisfaction skills that I often use today. I was responsible for keeping the store organized and clean while attending to a diverse population of customer's needs. I learned how to give a sale's pitch in order to meet goals of selling Old Navy Credit Cards and I also learned conflict resolution in order to deal with unhappy customers.
