Park Ranger
Current-Patrol Oklahoma State Parks in a law enforcement capacity providing for the safety and security of visitors to the state park.- Conduct investigations, make arrests and seize property or contraband- Represent the agency in court during legal proceedings, providing testimony and presenting evidence as required- Knowledge of safety and security techniques, first aid, public relations, and report writing.- Interpret and apply provisions of state motor vehicle laws, criminal laws and other statutes- Investigate reported criminal acts both alleged and actual. Investigations include interviewing witnesses and suspects, search/inspection of crime scenes to include vehicles, homes, offices, work sites, retail establishments, and other locations where crimes have been reported.- Responsible for protecting the life and property of citizens in the performance of my duties daily, I have fulfilled these responsibilities through controls both physical and verbal, reports, training, education, and experience.- Arrest suspects involved in criminal activities, including detain, mirandize, question, transport, and process in accordance with the law and departmental guidelines.- Respond to emergency calls and life threatening situations, providing first aid and support for first responders with Fire Department and EMT personnel- Provide law enforcement through patrols on foot, bicycle, and vehicle. Patrolling areas within my jurisdiction for enforcement of laws and providing a presence and deterrent to criminal activities ensuring the security of life and property. - Participate in training to increase proficiency and update skills and knowledge. This training includes formal, on-the-job and in-service training;periodic instruction and/or drills in law enforcement procedures and regularly scheduled weapons training and testing.- Write reports in preparation for use in court, filing warrant requests, reporting crimes and incidents, issuing citations
