As campaign manager, I was responsible for the campaign’s communications, field, and finance programs, as well as anything else that the campaign needed.I crafted written and image-based messaging materials for the campaign’s mail pieces, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, announcement address, campaign website, content for two Facebook pages, and endorsement questionnaires from interest groups. I oversaw a budget of $52,000 and prepared cost estimates for ad buys and campaign infrastructure.I recruited 21 volunteers who completed 55 door to door and phone banking shifts.I planned events with donors, campaign supporters, and interest groups, and I staffed the candidate during these events.I maintained the campaign calendar and notified the candidate and team of upcoming deadlines and events.I strategized how to best reach voters based on political research and meetings with vendors and other campaign professionals. I led Care In Action’s Richmond team of 18 paid canvassers to elect Democratic candidates who will fight for the labor rights of domestic workers. Two of the three candidates we supported won their races, and Virginia flipped blue for the first time since 1993.I coordinated 155 shifts for canvassers who knocked 12,685 doors. I presented to a congressional chief of staff about the mission of Solar United Neighbors, the impact of rooftop solar, and the benefits of extending the federal solar tax credit with two of my fellow Solar United Neighbors staff members. The congressional staffer complimented our presentation on its factual depth and found the information we provided useful. I conducted research on electric utility rates as requested by Solar United Neighbors staff. I looked for unnecessarily high fees and costs by combing over utility rate schedules, learning three utility rate databases, and calling utility employees to find the requested information.
