Increased attainment and academic outcomes: 90% of my students achieved a grade 4 or above throughout Foundation and Higher papers.ECA: to improve oracy I strategically imbedded and implemented reading sessions such as book clubs, poetry, and GCSE revision sessions during lunch and after school. I also reviewed and analysed students’ data which informed me of the best actions to improve attainment and provided intervention sessions to reflect this.Promote outstanding progress and outcomes: Taking accountability for pupils’ attainment, progress, and outcomes. Regularly demonstrating an understanding of how pupils’ learn, and how this affects teaching. Built great rapport with students, delivering dynamic lessons where they can collaborate, read fluently, debate and work independently.Setting high expectations: Establishing an environment that creates psychological safety that promotes respect and openness within the classroom.Inclusive education and safeguarding: Strong connections with students with additional needs, whilst offering opportunities of discovery and independence.Formative and Summative assessments: Delivered short assessments to understand key areas of improvement alongside summative assessments to monitor and track progress, set targets, and plan future lessons with the department. I also encourage peer review and feedback to encourage pupils to take ownership of their work and identify mistakes as independent learners.Planning and Delivering Lessons: As part of a collective Department effort, I created schemes of work SOW as well as daily lesson plans adapted and suited to the individual needs of the students aligned with national curriculum standards.
