Responsible for assisting the admissions team by providing training and quality assurance, consultation, clinical records review, and other clinical duties in order to ensure a smooth and organized admissions process for all incoming clients.• Complete direct pre-admission client screenings as needed, including virtual assessments, phone interviews, and/or biopsychosocial evaluations.• Consult with therapists, psychiatrists, referents, and other adjunct providers in effort to gather information regarding client presentation and appropriateness for care.• Provide initial and ongoing training for Admissions Coordinators, reviewing assessment screening process, mandated reporting, confidentiality, and other clinical information needed to facilitate client admissions.• Regularly assess staff performance, provide constructive feedback for improvement. Consult with Admissions Managers regularly with feedback regarding team training and clinical needs.• Provide assistance in urgent or crisis clinical scenarios that the admissions team encounters when interfacing with applicant families.• Interface with Utilization Review where necessary, to provide additional information regarding client symptom presentation, support insurance authorization process, and conduct peer review with insurance companies, if needed.• Interface with and provide training for on-site clinical leadership as well as Intake Clinicians to provide a bridge as it relates to admissions clinical processes and intake/on-site clinical processes.

Under the supervision of the Clinical Director of Admissions, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the admissions process by successfully completing assessments, reviewing clinical documentation and other information submitted for clinical clearance, supervising assessment specialists and and carrying out multiple job duties to ensure a smooth and organized admissions process for all incoming clients.• Complete Pre-Admission Assessments, screening and biopsychosocial evaluation with the parent and/or client, as needed.• Consult with therapists, psychiatrists, referents, and other adjunct providers in effort to gather information regarding client presentation and appropriateness for care.• Review assessment material, determine relevant symptomology, assign pre-admission DSM5 / ICD10 diagnosis. • Interface with Utilization Review where necessary, to provide additional information regarding client symptom presentation. Conduct peer review with insurance companies, if needed.• Determine clinical clearance decision: evaluate client appropriateness for level of care, assess risk level and safety of client to admit into program, and provide a written justification for decision.• Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner- keep electronic records up to date.• Work well on a team- coordinate with other team members, and supervisors.• Maintain a high level of organization- for all work priorities, meetings, and correspondence.• Demonstrate flexibility- adapt to changing priorities throughout the day.• Hiring and management of a team of Assessment Specialists• Provide initial and ongoing training for Assessment Specialists and/or Admissions team, regarding assessment process and clinical considerations for client admissions.• Conduct 90-day and annual employee reviews and counseling sessions when appropriate.

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for deciding on the clinical appropriateness of clients applying to Newport Academy's adolescent programs and assigning a diagnosis and safety risk level for onsite clinical staff. - Provide clinical clearance decisions for 400+ clients (monthly) that apply for admission to Newport Academy based on client’s level of acuity, exclusionary criteria and ability to participate in programming.- Apply mental health and substance diagnoses based on DSM-V criteria and assign a risk factor from 1-5 for all clients applying for program admission. Detail all safety precautions and medical concerns in client records for intake staff on site prior to admission.- Conduct over the phone assessments with potential clients and care takers/parents to assess risk factors and gather in-depth information used to make clearance decisions. - Consult with previous mental health providers, hospitals, parole officers and physicians to make well informed decisions regarding client admissions. - Maintain detailed spreadsheets and reports on client admissions, denials and risk factors for monthly reports and admissions statistics.

- Implemented changes to meet J-Co certification guidelines throughout the survey process. - Managed clinical team and trained clinical staff on U/R Reviews, clinical assessments, ASAM criteria, mandated reporting and documentation requirements to increase the probability of receiving insurance coverage at each level of care for patients in need. - Reviewed and addressed all incident reports and internal investigations of client to client and employee to client incidents, ensuring proper documentation and reporting standards are met. - Designed clinical calendar and curriculum for new IOP/OP level of care.- Worked directly with staff physician to review and assess client medical issues and trained staff on proper medication distribution procedures per state licensing guidelines for residential facilities. - Conducted groups and individual sessions with clients that are deemed high-risk while carrying a personal caseload of 6-9 clients.- Audited KIPU client files to ensure documentation is up to par for insurance reimbursement. - Worked directly with owner to grow business from 1 detox house to a 6 house residential/PHP/IOP/ OP business, with an increase in clients from 6 to 45 in one year.

- Functioned as a senior level therapist trainee for a sliding scale community clinic, under the supervision of Dr. Art Holden and Dr. Marilyn Davis, treating the more severe cases at the clinic including (Axis II) psychological disorders, Cluster B personality disorders and substance abuse cases. - Created theory-based individual treatment plans and provided weekly therapy sessions for a caseload of 10+ clients.

Many years ago, I starting out my career in the NYC Men's tailored clothing market working for Geoffrey Beene. That experience lead me to become a sort of perfectionist when it comes to fit and construction and inspired my passion for quality menswear. My love of the active sports industry eventually brought me West, where I landed in Southern California and started my career in the industry with Volcom. This was an exciting time to be part of such an amazing team and I was able to be part of the brand eventually going public. Next, I crossed the street and found myself working as a designer at RVCA, back when a small team of people were running the show and artists and musicians would roam the halls. RVCA and the amazing team of people there at that time taught me how to blend art and fashion, to challenge boundaries and defy the conventional. From RVCA I went on to a larger company, Sole Technology, where I was able to work closely with the team riders and had the challenge of combining their ideas and concepts with the latest technology and innovative textiles. This experience was great and I loved working so closely with such a great team of guys. At Sole Tech I had the challenge of putting together unique trend reports and seasonal forecasts and putting them into large scale presentations for the sales and marketing teams.I have the maturity to understand in this business that you can't marry your designs- so I am very open to criticism and will make any changes necessary to ensure my designs have the highest sales potential. I love working with team riders and other designers and I know the importance of identifying with the target customer.
