As an interdisciplinary scientist with expertise in cell biology and biophysics, I am passionate about unraveling scientific complexities and bridging the gap between scientific innovation and practical research solutions. With 10+ years of experience in molecular and cell biology methods, I am a seasoned researcher, specializing in the development of cell-based assays, live-cell microscopy, and microfluidics.My interest in science and biology goes way back to my childhood, and attending a talk on cell biology during my final years of high school sparked my fascination for the field, leading me to pursue undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Life Sciences at Charles University in Prague. There, I established a strong foundation in molecular biology and biochemistry. From the outset, my primary interest was in cell physiology and tumor biology. I joined the Laboratory of Cancer Cells Invasion, where I gained invaluable practical experience with cell assays, microscopy, and molecular methods, while also acquiring theoretical knowledge in cell migration, cancer cell invasiveness, and related signaling pathways.After graduating, I pursued my dream of exploring new environments both geographically and academically. I relocated to Munich, Germany, and obtained my PhD within the MCSA Doctoral Network InCeM. My doctoral research was conducted in an industrial setting, at the R&D department of the company ibidi. While the scientific focus of my dissertation remained on cell migration, particularly chemotaxis in keratinocytes, my interests gradually shifted toward biophysics, assay development, and microfluidics. Throughout my PhD studies, I developed a strong expertise in these areas and honed my soft skills.The research at ibidi encompasses a diverse range of fields, offering innovative assays and solutions for various life science applications. In my current role as Senior Research Scientist, I collaborate with academic and industry specialists to develop novel microfluidic solutions for cell research. The focus of our research project spans multiple areas, including tumor diagnostics, 3D cell culture, neurobiology, microbiology, and others.Beyond my professional work, I am passionate about science communication and promoting diversity in science. I actively contribute to the Soapbox Science Munich initiative, which organizes annual events showcasing the research of women and non-binary scientists to a broad audience.In my free time, I enjoy traveling, outdoor activities, and I am a devoted music lover.
