As a Recruitment Manager in Talent, I facilitate career changes for professionals interested in social justice work through Teach For America. Currently, I oversee the strategy, sourcing and cultivation of diverse professionals who are looking to join Teach For America's Recruitment Team as campus and professional recruiters. Our organization works to ensure that kids who grow up in under-resourced and under-represented areas are receiving an excellent education.

I support the effort to enlist the country’s most promising future leaders in our movement to eliminate educational inequity. Working alongside team members, I develop and execute strategies to build movements for educational equity on college campuses and in communities across the country and play a critical role recruiting a diverse group of corps members across a portfolio of colleges and universities or professional sectors.In my role, I primarily focus on the following: strategic outreach marketing & communication, recruitment event planning, systems management, data-tracking, & data-analysis, logistics, operations, hiring, alumni board & non-prospect engagement, and intern management.I leverage Salesforce and Excel analytics to aggregate and analyze recruitment data. This led to a 206% increase in Met to Apply Rates, 131% increase in applications, and 150% increase in new corps members.

Selected from approximately 57,000 applicants nationwide to join national teacher corps of recent college graduates who commit two years to teach in under-resourced public schools. Participate in intensive training program to develop the skills and knowledge needed to achieve significant gains in student achievement. Engage in a full schedule of professional development activities, including seminars, discussion groups, workshops, individual and group reflections, readings, and ‘learning teams’ specific to my teaching license area and diverse student population.

Worked closely with a diverse set of students that represented 100+ nations and 42 languages. Identified students’ individual learning needs and developed curriculum to accommodate learning styles and maximize comprehension. Improved students’ reading levels by 2 years each academic year. Spearheaded and maintained multiple community partner relationships inside and outside the classroom to benefit student learning and fundraised for necessary resources for school success. Organized events, clubs, and volunteers to consistently meet the needs of the students, their families, and the local community.

Built empathetic relationships with high school girls in order to mentor and encourage them towards recognizing their value and reaching their full potential. Organized and invested in a team of 9 members all working together to support the local high school students. Rationally handled problems that arose between team members and students. Planned and carried out weekly gatherings for the students, including music, skits, games and motivational talk. Partnered with school administration to support student and community needs.

Built friendships and provided assistance to women of Athens currently working involved in prostitution and seeking alternative life paths. Visualized and initiated partnership with Out of Darkness, Atlanta, while bringing creation of team to fruition. Delegated necessary tasks to team members to bolster growth of Athens' program.

As a hotline volunteer I answer the 24-Hour crisis hotline for immediate assistance to those in a situation of sexual assault. As part of my duties I help to rationalize the situation, effectively communicate options, and stabilize the victim.

- contributed to the operational success of a $2.5 million Institute- Supervised the provision of daily lodging, transporation, and food to 550 corps members and 120 staff members- Managed $60,000 contract between Teach For America and local rental car company- Arranged and directed all phases of complex projects from conception to fruition- Tracked and attended to issues of health and well-being that arose among corps members and staff- Planned and executed diversity events that allowed for honest discussion among attendees
