I decided the layout of the publication and had creative control over everything printed. I gathered ideas, wrote, edited and supplied photography for features and news stories. I wrote a weekly column, “Wait… What?” I collaborated with other weekly columnists and coordinated with freelance writers to delegate work. I covered multiple beats including local.

I wrote stories for each of the four weekly publications and special issues. I gathered my own leads in addition to other stories that were assigned to me. I did the necessary photography for any stories I wrote.

I copy edited all stories and press releases for each of the four weekly publications, as well as special issues. I spent time editing and formatting items for a weekly community calendar in each publication. I answered the phone to take classified ads.
