I recently received my masters degree in criminology from UNCW. While in graduate school, I had the opportunity to assist professors on research projects, work as a teaching assistant, and work as a paralegal. Assisting on research projects taught me about data entry, data organization, and the research process. Working as a teaching assistant allowed me to connect with students and help them to critically think about the topics discussed in class. While working as a paralegal for about 3 years, I managed caseloads, communicated with clients, kept invoices, managed courthouse filings, and kept all staff trained, scheduled, and up to date with staff meetings. While maintaining all of these roles, along with the role of being a student, was difficult, it speaks to my hard-working character that would be an asset in any workplace.
