I am an artist, arts educator, consultant, and program manager with a strong drive to create and support curiosity-centered spaces that encourage social and emotional inquiry, civic engagement, and center care and human connection. My equity focused consulting style is practiced through my work with University of Michigan’s Center for Research on Learning and Teaching. As an Instructional Consultant, I work with a diverse group of clients to develop syllabi, troubleshoot classroom struggles, implement equity-focused teaching strategies and alternative grading methods, and craft teaching philosophies. I facilitate online and in-person development workshops for new educators, and provide actionable feedback for instructors through conducting classroom observations, gathering student feedback, and synthesizing reports. I consult one-on-one with students in this highly relational, supportive work to strategize often emotionally-loaded, identity-related topics of classroom management and career readiness.I am practiced at starting programs, researching and responding to community-expressed needs, and moving with flexibility through a wide variety of contexts with different goals. I piloted the role of Artist Educator at The Yard, an arts nonprofit. I developed and implemented individualized creative education curricula for over 17 program sites with a variety of populations and goals, from kindergarten classes to elders in wheelchairs. I facilitated in-school workshops with international artists and master educators, and coordinated summer camps. A strong advocate for inter-organizational cooperation, I facilitated partnerships with other local education nonprofits. I have demonstrated leadership abilities directly related to Program Management within small, new organizations. For four years, I was the co-founder and co-director of LanDforms, an artist-run dance collective, where my roles included talent recruitment and retention, budget management, event production, facility rentals, grant writing and reporting, and supporting individual dancers’ emotional and career goals through pathways to performances and teaching opportunities. I am currently project manager and research assistant for legendary queer performance artist Holly Hughes.
