Through its network, COFEM aims to build a community and foster collective action in which feminist-informed theory and practice on oppression, discrimination and violence are the core of efforts to address GBV.

United States

• Work under the USAID Strengthening Approaches for Collective Action to Address Gender-Based Violence (CARE-GBV) Activity to:
• Provide support to landscape assessments, including conducting desk reviews, key informant interviews, facilitated group discussions and on-line surveys; supporting/managing data; and analyzing data
• Synthesize information to guide development of GBV strategies and tools
• Provide input into writing and designing reports, briefs, blogs, and other medium
• Translate research and evidence into practice by providing input into products to share knowledge, build skills, and generate behavior and normative change
• Provide expertise to design and effectively share information about best practices to effect improved knowledge and skills, as well as attitudinal, behavioral, and normative changes

• Coordinate the activities of the Community for Understanding Scale Up (CUSP)
• Develop working guidelines for what it takes to implement SASA! at scale
• Support the strategic thinking and planning for the use of SASA! in the Spotlight Initiative in Uganda

Kampala, Uganda

• Provided technical support for SBCC strategies and campaigns on issues including: family planning, fistula, among others
• Developed a “Mainstreaming Human Rights and Gender in the Health Sector” manual under the Human Rights & Gender Desk at the Ministry of Health and advocated for its approval under senior top management
• Supported the development of the Ministry of Health Guidelines on Prevention and Response to Sexual Harassment in the Health Sector
• Drafted the National Plan of Action to strengthen the role of Uganda’s Health Sector Within a Multisectoral Response to Address GBV and VAC
• Developed a Compendium of Laws, Policies, and Institutions on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment in the Ugandan Health Sector

New York

• Supported the Save the Children team through the United Nations General Assembly
• Managed budgets for Save the Children's activities during the UN General Assembly and International Day of the Girl Child
• Contributed to the launch of Save the Children's "Every Last Girl" campaign on International Day of the Girl Child by developing advocacy initiatives that centered on Save the Children's youth advocates
• Managed Save the Children's delegation for the Commission on the Status of Women, with a specific focus on raising the visibility of youth voices during the negotiations.

• Contributed to the development of analytical tools for the periodic portfolio of regional offices using institutional indicators related to humanitarian and program functional fields
• Supported analysis of findings and contributing to a design of a quarterly portfolio review report
• Reviewed and analyzed information entered in the Management Response Tracking System for its consistency, correctness, and cohesion with overall concept of evaluation recommendations
• Identified gaps and issues in implementation of evaluation recommendations and preparing a consolidated report for management by proposed criteria

• Conducted field visits to Mexico, Nicaragua, and Honduras to interview front-line service providers and experts on LGTBI adolescent issues to understand the cultural nuances and human rights themes around improving.
• Developed surveys, interview guides, and focus groups to collect pertinent information regarding knowledge, attitude, and comfort level of youth and staff around LGBTI issues
• Coded and analyzed aggregate data from a Covenant House staff survey to identify gaps between CHI’s approach and recognized best practices to improve staff capacity to serve vulnerable LGTBI youth
• Assessed CHI’s overall curriculum for improving staff knowledge, attitudes, and comfort level regarding LGTBI topics, and provide recommendations that may be adopted regionally
• Conducted an environmental scan and literature review of experts and resources available (with a focus on Mexico and Latin America) to inform knowledge base of LGTBI issues related to adolescents

• Supported Professor Yasmine Ergas with the expansion and management of the Gender and Public Policy Specialization
• Maintained communication with students in the specialization and act as a liaison between students and Professor Ergas
• Worked with SIPA administration on specialization issues and development
• Planned over 30 events and coordinated with guest lectures to ensure students gain the skills necessary to integrate a gendered dimension into their future careers as policymakers

Washington D.C. Metro Area

• Assisted research and advocacy teams with a new initiative to strengthen the abilities of local advocates to asses and monitor the quality of family planning
• Generated a literature review on the status of gender equity, family planning, reproductive rights, and male engagement in India, Pakistan, DRC, Ethiopia, and Myanmar
• Contributed to an initiative that provides religious organizations with support to hold governments accountable for ensuring quality family planning

Greater Seattle Area

• Served with College Access Now, an access and success college program for first-generation, low-income students in the greater Seattle area
• Provided outreach and support to caseload of 100 college freshmen and sophomores via social networking, email, phone, and one-on-one meetings
• Planned and implemented welcome events at local community colleges and universities for students
• Developed student and organizational data collection in order to contribute to growth and relevance of College Persistence program

• Taught English as a second language in an Israeli elementary school in order to address Israel’s educational achievement gap and the widespread underperformance of youth in low-income communities
• Received intensive educational training led by Israel’s Ministry of Education
• Explored aspects of Jewish identity and Israeli culture through excursions and travel experiences all around Israel such as: attending a workshop on Israeli Sign Language, visiting a Bedouin Kibbutz dedicated to.

• Helped organize and publicize functions to raise awareness about women’s reproductive rights
• Contributed to campus events such as the Law Conference on Reproductive Justice by representing Planned Parenthood and its mission
• Blogged about current events in reproductive rights and advocacy events

• Developed, assembled, and performed multi-disciplinary study concerning cultural and cognitive psychology
• Created and ran statistical equations to determine relationships drawn from study
• Wrote Honors Thesis, titled “Exploring the Social Relationship Between Cultural Mindset and Spatial Ability”
