I manage a pipeline of files for title clearance, curing title defects, with the goal of issuing a title insurance policy for home mortgages. When issues are found that legally affect the title and ownership of the property, I work to clear those issues by reviewing items such as judgments, deeds, mortgages, chain of title, subordinations and other relevant documents. Once I have determined that the title is clear, I issue a clear to close letter to the lender. The role is challenging and requires careful attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and effectively.

In this role, I research and follow intricate real estate laws, ensuring closings adhere to state laws and regulations. I close home loans for purchase and refinance, ensuring necessary documentation is in place. I also check for insurance and regulatory compliance. This role also entails review and proofreading of documents to ensure accuracy. I work in a high volume position and interact with co workers and with outside vendors. I frequently use the Encompass software program and have experience with Docusign, Transfer safe and Microsoft Word processing programs. I have experience with ECOA and TRID.

I was an owner and manager of the real estate business Front Porch Realty, LLC. As an owner and managerI completed accounting, taxation and management tasks. I also was involved in auditing and ensuring agents’ files were compliant with all real estate contract rules and regulations. Additionally, I oversaw and reviewed real estate documentation and transactions being conducted through our office.

I was responsible for and completed many different duties as an Owner and General Manager for Michael Horn Attorney, LLC. I performed many tasks involving legal research and legal document drafting and review in a wide array of legal topics including litigation, real estate and property law, family law, personal injury, business formation, trusts and wills, contract law and civil rights law. My duties also included billing and invoicing the law firm's clients, reconciling and overseeing both the company's operating bank account and its trust bank account, managing and paying bills incurred by the office, completing payroll, paying employees, making tax deposits to the IRS for payroll taxes, completing accounting tasks including generation of W-2's and handling human resources needs such as hiring and termination of employees.

I was the lead prosecutor for domestic violence crimes in the second largest court system in the State of South Dakota. I handled all criminal cases involving domestic violence issues, both at the misdemeanor and the felony level. My duties included charging the crimes based on police reports, interviewing witnesses including the victims of the crimes, appearing in court and litigating the cases. I left this position because I moved to Branson, Missouri.

I was employed in the legal counsel's office at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota. Ensuring compliance with healthcare laws and regulations was one of my main duties. I drafted and executed contracts between the hospital and doctors with practicing privileges as part of the hospital’s compliance program. In addition to the contract work, I presented workshops and educational seminars to inform the physicians about the latest rules and regulations regarding Anti-kickback and Stark law violations.

I was the sole law clerk for all of the Circuit Court Judges for the 7th Judicial Circuit for the State of South Dakota, the second largest Circuit Court in the State of South Dakota. My duties included completing legal research for cases being heard by the judges and writing opinions to the judges about the state of and application of the law for those cases. I also managed the law library and assisted the judges during hearings and jury trials. I was hired on for a second term by the presiding judge after my first year term was completed.
