Marjacq Scripts is a boutique literary agency representing a diverse range of writers of both fiction and non-fiction, for adults, young adults and children. Film and TV clients include Josh Silver, Alex North, Daisy Buchanan, and Sunday Times bestsellers Stuart MacBride and Andrea Mara.I represent adaptation rights for Marjacq’s clients to production companies and studios In the UK, US and around the world, as well as sub-agenting for various other agencies, including The Hamilton Agency and The Lindsay Literary Agency. I also have a list of screenwriters working on existent as well as original formats. Key skills include:- Preparation of pitches and submission of books to production companies for potential film/TV adaptation- Negotiation of and contractual fine line on various film, TV and stage contracts such as book options/purchases, consultation agreements etc. with producers at all levels from individual writer/directors to studios such as Netflix, Disney, Universal and Warner Bros.- Author/producer relationship and contract management for active agreements- Knowledge of the film/TV industry, particularly producers, studios and scouts, including slates and interests- Reading and commenting on significant drafts of screenplays and other adaptation materials- Development of original scripts, treatments and materials for submission to producers and commissioners- Providing film/TV perspective input to books in development- New business development, including finding new talent and partnering with agencies- Client management

Key responsibilities:- Negotiation of option/purchase, consultancy, shopping, and various other legal agreements- Primary responsibility for factual programming, including representing presenting and broadcasting for Aitken Alexander’s clients , such as Amanda Vickery, Germaine Greer and A.N. Wilson with several programmes broadcast each year with a variety of producers and broadcasters, including partnering talent with appropriate producers, handling contractual negotiations and ensuring smooth delivery of client services- Pitching literary properties for dramatic film, TV and stage adaptation- International stage licensing for Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap and A Murder is Announced, including a number of nationwide tours- Agency-wide oversight of UK publishing agreements

Assistant to Film and Television Department. Key responsibilities:- Negotiating option and rights agreements and licences with a variety of producers and broadcasters- Liaison between producers and clients across the option and adaptation process- Scouting across the Aitken Alexander client list for potential properties for submission to producers for adaptation to screen- Reading draft adaptations of clients' work and providing comments- Managing a schedule of option and other agreements to ensure smooth extension of periods where necessary and adherence to terms- Maintaining the agency website and social media platforms- General departmental administrative workLiterary Agent's Assistant to Gillon Aitken, providing support across his very busy client list, including bestselling authors such as Sebastian Faulks, Helen Fielding and Pat Baker. Key responsibilities:- Negotiating publishing agreements- Liaison with all publishing departments at all major US and UK publishing houses, including editorial, sales and publicity- Providing editorial comments on draft manuscripts- Reading submissions to find new talent across genres- Management of website and social media platforms- Maintaining a database of contracts and publishing schedules- Handling media and speaking enquiries- Raising invoices- General administration including knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Bradbury Philips etc.

Key responsibilities:- Drafting publishing agreements- Liaison with all publishing departments at all major US and UK publishing houses- Providing editorial comments on draft manuscripts- Reading submissions to find new talent across genres- Handling media and speaking enquiries- Diary management
