In the Spring planting process, as a farm hand, tasks included stone picking prior to the planter who seeded the field. Providing of seed, maintenance of the farm land/equipment, and needs of other farm operators were frequent tasks throughout the day. Work primarily took place outside. Planting, fertilizing, harvesting and selling of produce were skills frequently emphasized.
