Though not technically a native, Leah Rounds has lived in Colorado her whole life, and in Denver since 2002. Leah has a Bachelor’s in Environmental Policy, a Master’s in Library and Information Science, and has spent her career in various roles in Denver Public Schools: Teacher Librarian, parent volunteer, children’s book reviewer, community outreach coordinator, family liaison, and she lead the process of bringing a Big Green school learning garden to her own children's’ neighborhood DPS school. Leah’s passion for books, stories, the environment and personal love of gardening, culminated in her decision to create Rooted Readers in 2021. Leah continues to live in Denver with her husband and two children, though escapes to the mountains as often as possible.
