Studying a Joint Honours languages degree at the University of Leeds has allowed me to learn and immerse myself in both the language and culture of both Spain and Italy. I was fortunate to complete a term abroad at the University of Granada Modern Languages Centre in Spain, as well as more recently completing a placement year in Naples, Italy teaching English as a foreign language in a High School, working for the British Council. In the unprecedented times of the current pandemic, I took it upon myself to start a small online tutoring service, offering lessons from beginner to advanced levels, teaching both adults and children passionate about language learning. Teaching Spanish, Italian and English as a foreign language enabled me to grow my skills and experience working as an online tutor, discovering new teaching methods and resources. All above experiences have allowed me to develop vital transferrable skills such as leadership and organisation and thus have further fuelled my desire to pursue a career as an educator.
