Hospital Distribution Specialist, Trainer, Records Coordinator
Current•Receives prepares, and ships routine, ASAP and STAT orders for blood and blood products.•Communicates with client regarding order fulfillment, turn-around times, estimated arrival time, product availability, etc. Escalates client concerns as appropriate to department leadership, or medical representatives.•Supports logistics by scheduling third-party carrier pickups; following up on late shipments, monitoring product and supply movement inside Vitalant; and supporting local operations with supply movement as needed.•Monitors all storage requirements and updates applicable records and charts. Performs quality control of storage equipment and shipping procedures. •Receives, inspects and determines acceptability of blood components. Initiates quarantine and/or blocked distribution for suspected non-conforming products.•Professionally and safely delivers blood products to Vitalant hospital clients using a company vehicle.•Assists management in performing equipment validation for quality control, including completing appropriate documentation, process verification, and adhering to timelines and specifications of the validation.ADDITIONAL DUTIES:•As Trainer: Develop and implement training for new staff; provide instruction for new and current employees through the use of various methods (classroom/on-the-job training); Identify areas for improving individual and team performance; Assess task readiness, observe proper adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, and certify employee competency. •As Records Coordinator: Facilitate annual record retention initiatives; Communicate with third party record management company regarding record storage/retrieval/destruction; Determine files for onsite/offsite storage or destruction based record type and age.
